Mooring and Drifters

In collaboration with Alexandr Kurapov and Jinlun Zhang

Goals

1. To analyze spatial and themporal distribution of the mooring and drifter observations.

2. To prepare drifter and mooring dta for assimilation.

Request to BEST PI's

This page include locations of the moorings and drifter observatioon conducted during 2007-2010, which are currently availabe for data assimilation. We would be very gratefull if you find possible to provide any additional information related the velocity observations in the Bering Sea during 2007-2010.

Preliminary results

1. Preparation drifter and mooring observation for data assimilation

Preliminary conclusions from this test

Drifter velocity are seldom during the period of BEST project, but they can be easily combined with available observations from moorings.
